Last semester I had an assignment to create an animated advertisement for a website promoting a beverage of our choosing. While it’s great to have the creative freedom to choose the type of beverage (which greatly influences the tone of the ad as a whole), it was also a challenge because we also had to create a logo too.
I used Illustrator to create the logo. Power Up is a energy drink, whose demographic is teenagers and college students. I had the initial concept of the old comic book action sequences, so the logo was saying that the drink would wake them up or energize them like a punch to the face. 🙂
Used a monster can image I found via my good friend Google and enlisted the help of Photoshops clone tool to cover up the Monster logo and text.
The Lightning was created using custom brushes I found via some rigorous Google searches (there are so many cool custom brushes out there).
Once I had all the pieces, I put them together in Photoshop and created an animated GIF.
